रेखा जब भी किसी पार्टी या फिर फंक्शन में शामिल होती है तो उनकी मांग में सिंदूर जरूर दिखता है। वे किसके नाम का सिंदूर लगातीं हैं, यह बहुत बड़ा सवाल है, जिसका जवाब खुद रेखा ने एक इंटरव्यू में दिया था। उन्होंने एक इंटरव्यू में बताया था कि वे अपनी मांग में किसी के भी नाम का सिंदूर नहीं लगाती, बल्कि ये फैशन के तौर पर लगाती हैं। उन्होंने इंटरव्यू में यह तक कहा था कि उनपर सिंदूर बहुत खिलता और उनके मेकअप और चेहरे को सूट करता है। यहीं वजह है कि वे इसे लगाना पसंद करती हैं
रेखा सिंदूर लगाकर पहुंची थी ऋषि कपूर-नीतू सिंह की शादी में
बात 1980 की है ऋषि कपूर-नीतू सिंह शादी हो रही थी और रेखा इस शादी में भागती-दौड़ती पहुंची थी। इस दौरान उन्होंने सफेद साड़ी के साथ लाल बिंदी और मांग में सिंदूर लगा रखा था। इसी वजह से सभी का ध्यान रेखा की तरफ गया था। रेखा का ये रूप देखकर लोगों को लगा था उन्होंने शादी कर ली है। शादी में मौजूद जया बच्चन को भी रेखा पर शक हुआ था, क्योंकि उस दौरान अमिताभ बच्चन-रेखा के अफेयर के चर्चे चारों तरफ हो रहे थे। हालांकि, रेखा ने बाद में स्पष्ट किया था कि वे फिल्म की शूटिंग से सीधे शादी में पहुंची थी, इसलिए सिंदूर हटाना भूल गई थी
